A man wanted in connection with a number of pharmacy burglaries in Georgia has been captured in Cherokee County.
Sheriff Jeff Shaver said 30 year old Birmingham resident David DeWayne Brown was taken into custody following a pursuit in Cedar Bluff.
Deputy Jeremy Steppes spotted a vehicle matching the description of the one driven by Brown at around 3:30am on Alabama Highway 9, and when the deputy attempted to stop the vehicle, there were two passengers who bailed out and fled on foot.
Brown was arrested at the scene – and was charged with the Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Attempting to Elude a Police Officer.
Brown was transported to the Cherokee County Detention Center, where he remains On Hold for authorities in Floyd County, Georgia.
Local authorities are still on the lookout for the other two suspects.
