The Cedar Bluff Town Council made quick work of a light agenda Monday night.
The council voted to name Matthew Sprayberry as the permanent Fire Chief.
In November, the council voted to vacate the appointment of Bobby Joe Stinson and then named Sprayberry chief for a period of 90 days.
Once again, that appointment was made permanent Monday with Councilman Jerry Sprayberry abstaining.
The council also accepted a recommendation from the Fire Chief to purchase a new set of turnout gear at a cost of just over 11-hunrded dollars. It is a budgeted item.
In other action, the council reversed a decision made during their last meeting regarding payroll.
On January 27th, council members approved a measure to change the work schedule of all town employees to bi-weekly in hopes of cutting down on overtime pay.
On Monday, they voted to go back to a weekly payroll.
The council then went into Executive Session.
When they came back they voted against a recommendation to place an AT&T tower on top of the water tank in the Town Park.
