The 1st annual Cherokee County VEX Robotics competition drew a crowd to the Gadsden State Cherokee Arena Saturday morning.
Keith Tolbert, Electronics Teacher at the Cherokee County Career and Technology Center was very happy with the turnout.
The Career and Tech Center teamed up with Jacksonville State University for the event.
The VEX Robotics Design System offers students a platform for learning about areas rich with career opportunities spanning science, technology, engineering, math and more.
Beyond science and engineering principles, a VEX Robotics project encourages teamwork, leadership and problem solving among groups.
All are attributes that employers are looking for.
Tolbert had a special word of thanks for Cherokee County for coming out and supporting the students and for helping the make the inaugural event a success.
