Deadly Wreck Near Collinsville

An icy roadway is believed to have been the cause of a single-vehicle wreck that claimed the life of a Fort Payne woman near Collinsville Wednesday.

According to reports from the Jacksonville Post of the Alabama State Patrol, 53-year old Marie Duncan was killed when the vehicle she was driving slid on the ice, left the roadway and struck a tree.

The crash occurred at 7:15 a.m. on County 22 two miles east of Collinsville.

Seat belts were not in use at the time of the crash.
