Cherokee County Schools will be closed on Friday. Although road conditions on the main thoroughfares are improving, many slick spots remain and some of the snow that has melted will refreeze tonight. In addition, some of the backroads are still treacherous. Once again, no school tomorrow for students in the Cherokee County School System.
The Cherokee County Administration Building, County Courthouse and library will all have a delayed opening at 10 am Friday.

All campuses of Gadsden State Community College will be closed Friday.
Anniston City, Cleburne County, Etowah County, Gadsden City, Attalla City, Jacksonville City, Piedmont City, the Donoho School and Jacksonville Christian Academy all closed Friday.
Over in Georgia, Chattooga County, Polk County, Floyd County and Rome City Schools are all closed Friday.
The Centre Dixie Youth Baseball Meeting originally set for tonight, has been postponed until the 4th of February.
The Dean Buttram Senior Center will be open on Friday.
Shepherd Fold Daycare Center will be opening at 8 Friday morning.
Etowah County Department of Human Resources offices will open at 8 Friday morning.
The Alabama High School Athletic Association State Indoor Track Championship has been re-scheduled for Monday and Tuesday at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
