There was a thankfully brief, countywide power outage at approximately 6:55 this morning – just as the temperature was climbing back up to three degrees, from an overnight low of one below.
Power was restored in about five minutes.
Sarah Bright with Cherokee Electric informed WEIS Radio that the problem had apparently been with a TVA transmission line.
However, just as the temperature hit five – the power took another nose dive at 7:20am.
Power started coming back on shortly thereafter as Cherokee Electric went to work re-routing the electricity from other areas – with service finally being fully restored by 8:50.
