Funeral services for Rebecca Adams of Marshall, TX, will be held 2:00 p.m., Sunday, January 19, 2014, in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Yates Memorial Cemetery in Scottsville, TX. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Downs Funeral Home. Mrs. Adams passed away January 16, 2014.

Rebecca Adams was born in Cherokee County, Alabama to Horace Savage and Maxie Ruth Smith Naugher. She was co-owner of Med-Tex Clinic in Marshall with her husband, Dr. John G. Adams. They were married in 1960 in Cherokee County, Alabama. Rebecca graduated from High School in Cherokee County, Alabama, as well.

Surviving Rebecca is her husband, Dr. John G. Adams of Marshall; two sons, Dr. John Adams and wife Krista of Columbia, MO and Dr. Charles Adams and wife Denise of Waskom, TX; six grandchildren, Jordan, Jackson, Taylor & Rebecca Adams of Columbia, MO, Cameron and Elizabeth of Waskom, TX; and four sisters.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and one sister.

The family would like to thank Dr. Jack Cash, Dr. Robert Massingill and Dr. John Brady.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a local Food Bank of your choice.
