Rome Man Facing Multiple Charges Following High-Speed Chase

A Floyd County man is behind bars following a high-speed chase Tuesday afternoon.

29 year old Carl Lewis Cramer allegedly fled during a traffic stop, initiating the pursuit, which at times, reached speeds of 100mph.   Cramer bailed out near Pleasant Valley North Church on Old Summerville Road, and ran into a nearby wooded area; he was pursued by agents with the Rome/ Floyd Metro Task Force, Rome Police K-9 Unit, Georgia State Troopers and the DEA.

He is facing charges of assaulting a police officer, attempting to elude police and fleeing – all are felonies.  He was additionally charged with misdemeanor counts of reckless driving, passing in a no passing zone and failure to maintain a single-lane. 

Cramer also had a probation violation.
