A Glencoe man has been arrested, and charged with selling counterfeit items at his East Gadsden business. Following a tip from a concerned citizen the Etowah County Sheriff’s Office launched an investigation into the business, Quick Nails, owned by 43 year old Hoa Tran.
An undercover office went into the store and purchased a handbag – afterwards, a search warrant was obtained and executed at the business.
Sheriff Todd Entrekin said that a total 114 items were seized, including counterfeit handbags and wallets.
Tran was taken into custody and booked into the Etowah County Detention Center, and was later released on a $2,500 property bond.
A total of 14 individuals have been arrested in Etowah County for selling counterfeit items, since last November (2013).
