Miss. Dorothy June Poovey, age 85, of Lyerly, GA died Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Redmond Regional Medical Center.

Miss Poovey was born September 22, 1928 in Gaylesville, AL, the daughter of the late Carl Smith Poovey and June Little Poovey. Miss Poovey was a member of Sardis Baptist Church. She was retired from Parent Child Center.

Survivors include sisters, Mabel Poovey and Kathleen Poovey of Lyerly, GA; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Jane Poovey, Centre, AL; niece and nephew, Cecilia and Dion Hudson, and Mark Alan Poovey.

Funeral service will be held at 5:00 p. m. EST Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Mason Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dewayne Teague officiating.

Burial will be held in Lyerly Cemetery.

Miss Poovey will be in state at Mason Funeral Home and the family will receive friends from 3:00 until 5:00 p. m. EST on Wednesday, January 15, 2014.
