Mr. James Hartline, age 64 of Gaylesville, passed away Saturday, January 11th at Redmond Regional Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Tuesday, January 14th at New Prospect Baptist Church with Rev. Mike Rainey, Rev. Wayne Pace and Rev. Sanford Deberry officiating; burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 PM Monday.
Pallbearers include Kirk Blankenship, Jeff Shaver, Brody Moses, Bobby Winters, Brent Grimes, Tim Hays, Tony Pettitt, John Sentell.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Hunter Williams, Hayden Williams, Austin Hartline, Jacob Hartline, Brock Black, RL Hartline, Doug Hartline, Derek Payne, Gary Gentry.
Survivors include his wife, Kathy Burleson Hartline; son, Joe (Darlene) Hartline of Piedmont, Matthew (Stephanie) Meade of Gaylesville; daughters, Teresa (John Paul) Verdon of Mentone, Katrina (Britt) Heinrich of Mentone; brothers, Robert (Judy) Hartline, David (Pat) Hartline, Leroy (Glenda) Hartline, Johnny (Karen) Hartline all of Gaylesville and Tommy (Pam) Hartline of Hammondville; sisters, Vester (Junior) McCullough, Ada (JB) Gentry and Carolyn (Donald) Payne all of Gaylesville; 8 grandchildren; several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, Slade Verdon; sisters, Mary Todd, Rachael Gentry Chamblee and Sandra Wilbanks.
Mr. Hartline was a native of Cherokee County, the son of the late Robert Lee and Maude Sylvester Townsend Hartline, was a reserve deputy for 11 years with Cherokee County Sheriffs Department, was a Centre Police Department reserve officer for 1 year and was a member of New Prospect Baptist Church #1.
