Bitterly Cold Weather Upon Us – Schools Delaying Opening On Monday

Before midnight Sunday, we have a chance of rain and freezing rain with little or no ice accumulation expected. Snow and sleet are possible between midnight and 3 a.m. with a small dusting to half an inch of accumulation possible in some areas.

After that, temperatures will rapidly fall, resulting in what forecasters are calling a “Flash Freeze.”

Once the temps begin to drop they will do so rapidly.

The low Monday morning will be in the teens and it won’t be getting much warmer for the next few days.

The low overnight Monday will be around 6 degrees.

These are the coldest temperatures we have had in years, and now is the time to prepare.

Another concern is the wind, which could see gusts of up to 35 miles per hours, making it feel more like -3 degrees with the wind chill.

A Hard Freeze Warning and a wind chill advisory are in effect from midnight tonight until midnight tomorrow.

A winter weather advisory is in effect from 6 this evening until 11 tomorrow morning.

And a Wind Advisory is in effect from 6 tonight until 6 tomorrow night.
