Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver states that the recent arrest of a Sand Rock man has cleared up a number of burglary cases taking place around the area.
Last Friday (December 27th), Investigators were dispatched to the scene of a burglary which had occurred in Leesburg – and, while there, officers found a cell phone apparently left behind by the perpetrator; they then obtained burglary warrants on the owner of that cell phone, identified as 39 year old David Bone.
While executing the arrest warrants at his residence, they recovered several items reported stolen by the homeowner in Leesburg; afterwards, they obtained a search warrant for Bones’ home, and discovered evidence linking Bone to two additional burglaries in the same area of Leesburg.
David Bone has been charged with Burglary 3rd Degree, Theft of Property 1st Degree, Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
He was also charged with Escape after he attempted to flee from officers while handcuffed.
Additional charges are expected against Bone related to other burglary cases.
