Calhoun County Inmate Stabs Another With Ink Pen

Calhoun County authorities are investigating a recent incident in which an inmate stabbed another multiple times with an ink pen.

The incident occurred December the 20th at the Calhoun County Jail.

According to Chief Deputy Matthew Wade, 36-year old Anthony Lavaughn Crook stabbed the 32-year old victim because he thought the man had stolen some of his laundry.

According to Wade, corrections officers broke up the incident and the victim was treated for minor injuries at the jail.

Crook, who is in jail awaiting trial on felony charges of third-degree burglary and obstruction of justice, may now additionally be charged with felony second-degree assault.
