The City of Centre is mourning the loss of one it’s most loved and respected peace officers.
On Saturday, a news conference was held at the Centre Police Department to remember Investigator Jeff Bryant, who died tragically in a two vehicle accident on Friday.
Mayor Tony Wilkie read a short statement.
Investigator Bryant had just transported an individual who was wanted on warrants out of Fort Payne.
He was on his way back when the wreck occurred.
Centre Police Chief Kirk Blankenship says it’s tough losing an officer in the line of duty.
Chief Blankenship says he will remember Bryant as a good officer and a good man.
Bryant’s law enforcement career spanned more than 20 years.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 24th at Perry Funeral Home Chapel.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday.
