A sharp increase in Type-O Negative blood useage has Blood Assurance needing more donors.

Blood Assurance is the sole provider of blood and blood products for a number of hospitals in the area including Cherokee Medical Center and Dekalb Regional Medical Center here in Northeast Alabama along with Floyd Medical Centre and Redmond Regional Medical Center in Rome.

So, the donations you make will go to help your neighbors.

You can give blood on Friday as the Centre Fire Department teams up with Blood Assurance for a Blood Drive at the Centre Wal-Mart from 9:45am – 2:00pm.

You can also call 1-800-962-0628 to schedule appointments at any donation center including the one in Rome.

Once again, donations of Type O-Negative are especially needed.
