An undercover sting operation targeted counterfeit handbags, clothing and other items in Etowah County.
Chief Investigators Mike Jones told FOX6 in Birmingham that plainclothes officers visited a roadside vendor on East Meighan Boulevard to see if that person was selling fake goods.
The officers found counterfeit Michael Kors handbags, North Face jackets, Alabama and Auburn fan gear, Nike and Polo clothing.
42-year old Qu Chunle was arrested and charged with three counts of felony theft of trademarks or trade secrets.
Bond was set at 75-hundred dollars.
The Sheriff’s Office wants to remind the public that the sale of counterfeit goods is not just illegal but hurt legitimate vendors.
