No one was injured after a car crashed into the fence at the Cherokee County Highway Department complex on the East Bypass Friday afternoon.
Centre Police and fire were dispatched to the scene at around 3:30 p.m. after the gold-colored sedan left the roadway and slammed into the fence, which sustained damage in the collision as did the front of the automobile.
The driver, 46-year old Kathryn Dianne Bell of Centre was booked into the Cherokee County Jail about an hour later and charged with Unlawful Possession of Marijuana 2nd, DUI – Any Substance, and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
