A man who was injured in a one-vehicle wreck earlier this month in the Rome area has died from those injuries.
According to Floyd County Deputy Coroner Gene Proctor, James Godfrey was pronounced dead at 9:40 p.m. on Friday at Erlanger Medical Center from traumatic brain injury in last week’s motor vehicle accident.
According to previous reports, Godfrey, of a Plantation Drive address was traveling at a high rate of speed in the northbound lane on Horseleg Creek Road in a 1999 Gold Nissan Pathfinder at 11:50 p.m. on November the 9th.
According to the report, Godfrey drifted into the southbound lane, went off the road and struck a tree.
Godfrey had to be extricated from the vehicle.
