Pregnant Gadsden Woman Charged with Chemical Endangerment of a Child

An Etowah County woman is facing multiple charges including the Chemical Endangerment of a Child – following her arrest on Wednesday.

Sheriff Todd Entrekin says 28 year old Danley Cameron Davis of Gadsden who is approximately 16 weeks into her pregnancy – admitted to using morphine, opiates and methamphetamine within the previous 24 hours, as she was being placed under arrest.

Sheriff Entrekin stated that Davis is currently receiving the proper medical attention to make sure that she delivers a healthy baby, and that although it’s being done at taxpayer cost, no price is too high to make sure that a healthy baby is given an opportunity to make a positive difference in our community.

Davis is also charged with Unlawful Manufacture of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree.

She is being held in the Etowah County Detention Center on a property bond of $75,000.
