Gadsden Man Arrested on Drug Charge After Being Found Asleep in the Middle of the Street

Police responded to the 2400 block of East Broad Street in Gadsden – at around 9:00 Wednesday night – in reference to a man found lying in the middle of the street.

Officers called medics to treat the 44 year old South Gadsden resident and during a search for his identification, they found five Roxycodone pills in his pocket.

The man told police that he was walking home and didn’t remember falling asleep in the street.

He was placed under arrest on a charge of Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance and he was given a bed in the Etowah County Detention Center.
