The American Red Cross Bloodmobile was in Centre Friday.
The “Pizza for Pint” blood drive was sponsored by the Cherokee County Young Republicans and Teenage Republicans and was held in the parking lot of Wise Guys Pizzeria.
Each donor received a free slice of pizza from Wise Guys.
Red Cross personnel on hand said the turnout was good and they stayed very busy.
Jacob Day was one of the donors giving blood while we were there, and we asked him what brought him out to the event.
1 pint of blood can save 3 lives.
If you missed Friday’s blood drive, the next one will be on October the 31st at the Piggly Wiggly Shopping Center in Centre.
The Bloodmobile will be set up near the USDA Office from 1:30 until 5:30 p.m. that day.
Donors may also set up an appointment online at www.redcross.org.
