One Air-Lifted Following Four-Wheeler Accident Sunday on County Road 33 / UPDATED

A 21 year old male was air-lifted for treatment following a four-wheeler accident taking place on Sunday afternoon in Cherokee County.

According to Cherokee County Sheriff Jeff Shaver deputies and first responders were dispatched to the scene of the ATV accident, which occurred at approximately 4:45pm off County Road 33 at Frog Mountain.

The young man, who is a resident of Piedmont, was riding an ATV that went off a 30 foot cliff in a gravel pit located on the mountain; an eyewitness told deputies that after the victim went off of the cliff, the ATV landed on top of him – causing serious injuries.

Deputies Daniel Money and Tyler Perea, assisted the ambulance service in getting the victim to a local hospital – from there, he was flown by Life Force Helicopter to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga for treatment of his injuries.
