Gadsden Police are currently investigating two church burglaries occurring over the weekend.
The Union Baptist Church on Henry Street was broken into – sometime Friday night, or Saturday morning – with two PA systems, a vacuum cleaner, a floor buffer, and an accounting ledger book – all being taken; the combined value of the goods was listed at $6,650.
Just down the street Grant Chapel Church was broken into, and the haul there was somewhat less impressive, with someone gaining entry by breaking out a window and taking about $10 from the church office.
Police are reportedly following up on leads in each case.
