Area runners helped to kick off the annual City of Centre Fall Festival Saturday during the Cherokee County Family Resource Center’s 5K/10K and 2-Mile Health Walk.
Kay Davis, Director of the Family Resource Center told us a little about the event.
The event is also a fundraiser for the non-profit Family Resource Center.
The Family Resource Center opened in 2010 thanks to the work of a coalition made up of service agencies, health care providers, career development specialists, educators, churches, and civic organizations, who saw the need for a “one-stop” social and family services center.
The initial funding was made possible through a seed grant from the federal government.
