The Cherokee County Chapter of Relay for Life has a very important meeting scheduled for next Tuesday.
Melissa Culpepper tells us more:
Venicia Butler, the four-time cancer survivor who has formed Venicia’s Foundation – will be the guest speaker that evening. Her foundation provides aid, support and comfort to cancer patients and provides “care packages” for those undergoing chemotherapy.
Also, Team Cedar Bluff would like to invite everyone to a night of “Karaoke in the Park”, which is coming up Saturday, October 19th.
The festivities will get underway at 5:00pn and of course will take place in Cedar Bluff Park – in addition there will be a cake auction and a concession stand.
Anyone in the community interested in donating cakes to that auction can contact Ms. Culpepper at (256) 630-7470.
In case of rain that event will be moved to the Cedar Bluff Community Center.
Each year, American Cancer Society Relay for Life events help to raise all-important funding for cancer research – and to assist those battling cancer in many other ways on a day-to-day basis.
Last year, the Cherokee County Chapter raised an amazing $62,000 – but the need never ends – to find out more about how you can lend a helping hand – make plans now to attend one of these upcoming meetings.
