A house fire early this morning caused extensive damage to the rear area of the home on North Williams Street in Centre.
Firefighters from the Centre, Cedar Bluff and Spring Creek Fire Departments responded to the blaze at the home of Mark and Mary Thompson during the 3 o’clock hour, according to Fire Chief Kevin Ware.
The family was at home at the time of the fire but they were able to escape without injury.
Representatives from the American Red Cross were at the scene consulting with the family to determine their needs.
Once again, all the occupants were able to get out of the home safely.
However, they lost almost all of their possessions and are need of clothing donations, mostly jeans and t-shirts.
If you can help, please contact a member of the family to find out what sizes are needed.
