Final plans have recently been submitted to the board of education for the new Chattooga County High School complex – which will be some 25,000 square feet larger than the current facility.
School Superintendent Jimmy Lenderman, said the size will increase from 100,000 square feet to 125,000 square feet – not counting the gym, which will seat around 1,200 people.
Lenderman added that the design also allows for future expansion.
According to the Summerville News, bids will be taken this week on the groundwork for the new school, while bids for the new building will not be taken for some time to come.
