The Cherokee County Commission will be meeting at 5:00pm today (Monday, September 23rd), and a new budget will be voted on during that meeting.

We spoke with Commissioner Member Marcie Foster about the recent budget meeting conducted by the Commission that included discussion on a variety of topics such as the jail budget, animal control, overall expenses and more.

Again, a budget will have to be passed today – due to the fact, that this will be the last meeting of the commission prior to the October 1st start of the new fiscal year; bear in mind, any budget that is passed – can be amended at a later date.

The commission meeting is scheduled for 5:00pm, taking place in the County Administration Building on the Cedar Bluff Road in Centre; that meeting is open to the public.
