A total of six people have been charged in connection with a double homicide in Gadsden.

24 year old Errik Laderron Hughley of Gadsden – has been charged with capital murder and first degree theft of property / 27 year old Cedric Orlando Young, also of Gadsden – has been charged with capital murder, buying and receiving stolen property, and with discharging a firearm into an occupied building / Willie O’Bryant Mosley, age 23 of Pritchard – has been charged with capital murder and hindering prosecution / and 25 year old Birmingham resident Cordaryl Craig has also been charged with capital murder.

Two Gadsden women, 28 year old Kendra Lashay Leach and 38 year old LaShunda Reeves have been charged with hindering prosecution.

Those charges stem from a drive by shooting on the Meighan Boulevard Bridge, during the early morning hours of August 17th (2013). Both 35 year old Jabari Player and 53 year old Billy Baker were fatally injured.

District Attorney Jimmie Harp has announced that authorities have recovered the gray, four-door Ford 500 believed to have been used in the shooting – in Mobile.

Harp said Hughley, Young, Mosley and Craig were all in the vehicle at the time of the shooting – and it’s believed that only one weapon was used – an AK-47; he added that witnesses have come forward.

According to the website al.com Harp would not comment on any motive in that incident, saying only, that authorities are confident that the Meighan Bridge murders, are connected to the August 21st killing of 45 year old Willie Brown in East Gadsden – who was shot in his driveway.

All six individuals are currently being held in the Etowah County Detention Center – with Leach and Reeves being held on $50,000 bond, while the other four – charged with capital murder – are being held without bond.
