A Gadsden man is facing charges in connection with a recent robbery.
Etowah County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Josh Morgan says 41-year old Allen Whitmore was arrested Monday and is charged with one count of third degree robbery, which is a felony.
Whitmore allegedly forced his way into a residence located on Causey Lane in the Ivalee community Monday at approximately 9:30 p.m.
An elderly woman opened the door to the house and sustained minor injuries after being pushed down by Whitmore.
He stole money, jewelry and car keys once inside the residence.
Using information gathered at the incident scene, Sgt. Tripp Noojin and Deputy Brian Smith found Whitmore hiding in the bathroom of a residence in Gadsden.
All of the stolen items were recovered and returned to the rightful owner.
Whitmore is currently detained in the Etowah County Detention Center on $2,500 bond.
