Six Arrested Following Weekend Disturbance in Rome

FCSO - Six Arrested After Shots Fired

Six people were arrested over the weekend, in connection with a disturbance taking place outside DJ’s Tavern on John Davenport Drive in Rome.

Officers responded to a report of shots being fired from a white Ford Expedition; the vehicle was quickly pulled over at the Royal Inn on Martha Berry Boulevard and all six occupants were taken into custody and charged with reckless conduct, discharging a firearm near a public street and the possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.

A search of the vehicle turned up a 9mm Glock 17 and a package of marijuana.

None of the passengers in the vehicle claimed the gun.

Those arrested included 25 year old Shastoni Rikole Burge, 28 year old Nakotah Javaz Smith, 18 year old Javonte Dodric Garret, 22 year old Kavius Rendez Seagraves, and 29 year old Quauarez Marquel Cunningham – all of Rome – along with a 22 year old Cedartown resident Devon Lavan McDougald.

Smith, McDougald and Cunningham, were also charged with felony possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and probation violations.

Seagraves was also charged with failure to pay child support.
