On Wednesday the new “Ag In Action” learning lab on wheels will officially be unveiled to the public.

The enclosed trailer will allow school children from kindergarten to middle school in Etowah, Cherokee, St. Clair, Blount, DeKalb, Marshall and Calhoun counties to experience farming while at their school.

The carpentry, electronics and welding work on the trailer is being performed by students at the Cherokee County Career and Technology Center.

An Etowah County farmer has donated a cotton picker cab, which will serve as the vehicle for the Ag Simulator.

Wednesday’s ribbon cutting will begin at 1 p.m.

The public is invited to see it at the Cherokee County Career and Technology Center.

Ag In Action is a cooperative effort among seven counties involved.

It will be only the 4th such trailer of its kind in the U.S.

It is being paid for by grants and donations.
