High school football enters week three of the regular season tonight with a full slate of area games.
In class 6A Gadsden City is at Oxford.
Class 5A finds unbeaten Etowah at Brewer, Southside-Gadsden visiting Scottsboro and Fort Payne at home versus Arab.
In class 4A Cherokee County tries to make it two in a row when the Warriors travel to Jacksonville. Meanwhile, Hokes Bluff and Alexandria are still winless. The Eagles travel to Death Valley to face the Valley Cubs.
Class 3A, No. 2 Piedmont is on the road. The Bulldogs travel to Glencoe for a Region 5 battle with the Yellow Jackets.
In class 2A, Region 7 Sand Rock celebrates homecoming on Friday night when the Wildcats entertain North Sand Mountain while Gaston travels to meet unbeaten Section.
Class 1A finds Cedar Bluff searching for their first win at Coosa Christian, while Woodville journeys to Collinsville and Gaylesville looks for their 3rd straight victory when they host Ragland in a non-region game.
Don’t forget, college football fans can tune into 990 AM or 100.5 FM on Saturday to catch Alabama and Texas A&M with a 2:30 p.m. kick off as well as Mississippi State at Auburn later in the day. Closer to home Jacksonville State fans celebrate Band Day when the Gamecocks host the University of North Alabama. That game begins under the lights on Burgess-Snow Field at 7 o’clock Saturday evening.
