The Piedmont City Council recently took time to honor two state championship teams.
The Dixie Youth Baseball AAA All-Stars won the state championship and advanced to the 9-and-10-year-old World Series in Laurel, Mississippi in August. The first team from Piedmont to ever do so.
After receiving their medals, the team then presented something to the council.
The council also recognized the Piedmont 10 & Under softball all-star team, who were 2013 ARPA state champions.
The state softball tournament was held July 19th and 20th in Gadsden.
