A Silver Creek, Georgia woman was fatally injured in a Monday afternoon accident, on Highway 101.
Floyd County Deputy Coroner Gene Procter said that 61 year old Dorthea Farmer was behind the wheel of a Smart Car traveling south when she collided with a Chevy truck that was being driven by Rome resident Ricky Brinkley.
As a result of the crash, Farmer experienced massive chest trauma.
She was rushed to Floyd Medical Center, where she was pronounced dead at 4:39pm.
The cause of that accident remains under investigation.
