Sheriff Jimmy Harris is proud to announce that Dean White son of Investigator Craig White of the DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office and Melinda White was awarded a $1000.00 Scholarship from the Alabama Sheriff’s Association.

Dean White is going to be attending the fall semester at Northeast Alabama Community College with Criminal Justice as his major.

Any son or daughter of a full-time Sheriff’s Office employee who will be attending a community college, college or university within the State of Alabama whose career objective is a degree focused towards law enforcement, corrections or another aspect of criminal justice is eligible to apply for the Alabama Sheriffs Association scholarship.

Up to five separate scholarships may be awarded annually, valued at $1,000 each.
