WEIS Radio has invited various members of the school system to visit the studios and share with listeners information on some things that the students of Cherokee County can look forward to as they begin the new school year.
Wednesday morning DeWayne Pierce chatted with Jerry Baker about the move to Common Core Standards, the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) Implementation Team, the move to a block schedule, the phasing out of the Alabama High School Graduation Exam and more.

Thursday’s guests will be – Dr. Jimmy Myrick who’ll be speaking on technology – and Assistant Superintendent Dr. Trina Wood who’ll be discussing such topics as school advisory councils, the student dress code and safety plans among others.
