Monday “Back to School” Interview with Brett Keasler and Theresa Thompson

Back to School - Monday Interview 001With the start of a new school year almost upon us, WEIS Radio has invited various members of the school system to visit the studios and share with listeners information on some things that the students of Cherokee County can look forward to this year.

Monday morning Brett Keasler from the Career & Tech Center stopped by to discuss a variety of things related to the upcoming school year, and he shared some exciting news regarding the bond issue passed this year in the Legislature – setting aside $50 million for career tech education – some of which will make its way to Cherokee County.

Needless to say the additional funding will mean a major boost to the Career Tech Center here in Cherokee County.

Also in the studios Monday morning, was County School System Nurse Theresa Thompson, who spoke on such topics as when parents should keep children at home due to illness, and dispensing of medication. Thompson also talked about the most important thing for parents to do prior to the beginning of school – and that’s making sure the their children’s immunization records are up to date.
