51 year old Justin Ray Jones of Albertville is behind bars in Marshall County after being charged with Attempted Murder in connection with a shooting incident last Thursday night (July 25th).
Albertville Police received a call reporting a domestic disturbance, at a residence on the Blessing Road, at around 8:00pm.
According to the Sand Mountain Reporter officers arriving on the scene heard shots being fired – and saw 52 year old Kimberly Mayfield stumble from the home suffering a gunshot wound to the back.
She was transported to Marshall Medical Center, for the treatment of what officers described as a “serious wound”; she is expected to recover.
At this point, it’s unknown what prompted the disagreement which led to the shooting.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office Inmate Database – Jones bond has been set at one million dollars.
