The Cherokee County Board of Education approved 2013-2014 Salary Schedules during their Tuesday night meeting.

Board member Lynn Rochester was the only “No” vote.
In other action, the revised School Calendar to modify testing dates was approved.
The board also approved a bid to purchase a Hobart dish washing machine for Cherokee County High School.
In personnel action, the board approved the resignations of Centre Elementary PE Teacher Amy Hellums Barnes, Gaylesville English Teacher Brian Clowdis and Centre Middle Child Nutrition worker Ruth Peek.
The board voted to hire Emily Bailey and Brittney Jones as countywide Special Education Paraprofessionals.
The hiring of a bus driver for the Centre Route was not approved, after dying for lack of a motion.
One certified transfer by agreement was approved, that of Heather Gill from 4th Grade Teacher to Pre-K Teacher at Spring Garden.
Two classified transfers by agreement got board approval. Those being Heather Ingram from In School Suspension Parapro at Centre Middle to Pre-K Parapro at Spring Garden and Donna Pope from Library Parapro at Spring Garden to In School Suspension Parapro at Centre Middle.
The board also voted to post the jobs of PE Teacher at Centre Elementary, English Teacher at Gaylesville with coaching responsibilities and Child Nutrition Worker at Centre Middle School.
