Fire On County Road 424 Friday

Firefighters responded to a residential fire on County Road 424 just off of County Road 69 Friday afternoon.

The call came in at around 3:15 p.m.

The single-level home sustained damage mostly to the attic area, where it appears the blaze began, according Cedar Bluff Fire Chief Bobby Joe Stinson.

The exact cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.

No one was injured in the fire, but firefighters did have to contend with the heat with temperatures on the outside of more than 90-degree and temps on the inside of the burning structure at more than 1-thousand degrees.

Firefighters from Centre, Gaylesville and Spring Creek Fire Departments also responded to the scene.
