The Cherokee National’s made a strong showing in state tournament play in Tuscaloosa, winding up in 7th place out of 16 teams taking part.
They opened up last Friday (July 12th) against Dothan with an 8 to 5 loss, but turned that around, with two victories on Saturday, shutting out Crenshaw County five-to-zip, and defeating Monroe County by a score of 9 to 7.
They ended tournament play on Monday with a close game against Mobile losing by a score of 6 to 4.
The Cherokee National’s managed to finish in the top half of the tournament, with their 7th place finish – and the players, coaches and all those who supported them, deserve a hearty “thank you” for their efforts.
