Bassmaster Weekend On Weiss Lake

104 anglers from Alabama and other states were on Weiss Lake Saturday for  The Alabama North Division 1 of the Toyota Bassmaster Weekend Series, operated by American Bass Anglers.

The tournament began early Saturday and ended with a weigh-in at 2 p.m. at Little River Marina in Cedar Bluff with participants competing for cash prizes and series points.

Kyle Dorsett of Odenville, Alabama was the overall winner in the Boater Division, catching five bass, weighing 17.94 pounds.

He took home a check for 5-thousand dollars for the win.

Jon A. Burt from Fort Payne was second with a weight of 17.68 pounds.

While Bradley Jones of Aragon, Georgia took third for the boaters with 17.61 pounds.

Boaters had a five fish limit.

Randall Allen of Brownsboro, Alabama brought in the biggest bass of the tournament, a 5.62-pounder.

In the Co-Angler Division, which has a three bass limit, Jon R. Adams of Jacksonville won with 11.62 pounds.

Taking second for the co-anglers was Wayne Kilgore of Attalla, who brought 11.33 pounds of bass.

He also caught the Co-Angler Division’s biggest fish with a 5.60-pounder.

Chris C. Long of Tennessee placed third among the co-anglers with a total weight of 10.81 pounds.

Saturday’s event on Weiss Lake was the final tournament of the regular season.

Up next will be a two-day divisional championship tournament on Lake Guntersville September the 14th and 15th.

At the end of the season, one BWS angler will win the opportunity to compete in the 2014 Bassmaster Classic.
