Gadsden Police Officers were dispatched to the Forest River Apartment Complex Wednesday, in response to a report of “shots fired”.

Officers arrived just after 7:00pm to find a 25 year old male shot in the leg and sitting in the back seat of a passerby’s car.

Apparently witnesses to the incident had helped the victim into the car in order to take him to the hospital shortly before law enforcement arrived on the scene.

The victim, who lives at Forest River told investigators another man who’d he been arguing with for several days had come to the apartment complex and started a fight; during the confrontation, the other man reportedly pulled a gun and shot him in the leg.

The suspect – whose name has yet-to-be released – has been located and taken into custody.

The victim was treated at the scene by medics and later transported to UAB as a precaution.
