28 runners completed the first annual Hampton Mission 5k, held in conjunction with Liberty Day in Cedar Bluff.

Sand Rock’s Steven Chestnut was the men’s overall winner with a time of 21:44.  

Allison Kneip was crowned the women’s overall champion.  She covered the out and back course in 23 minutes and 2 seconds. 

In the One Mile Fun Run Cedar Bluff Coach Taylor Talbot and his two girls, Mia and Katy, took top honors.

The race serves as a mission fund raiser for Jamie and Meaghan Hampton. 

Jamie was a multi-sport standout at Cedar Bluff High School, and continued his athletic career as a quarterback at Troy University. 

The Hamptons now work with Campus Outreach at Sam Houston State University in Huntsville, Texas.
