Authorities held a press conference Tuesday in Gadsden to announce the results of “Operation Disclaimer,” a sting targeting internet prostitution.
Police say 24-year old Daniel Oravet essentially ran an escort service where he set up meetings and, in some cases, transported females to their appointments with clients.
Oravet and five women between the ages of 22 and 40 are facing prostitution-related charges.
Oravet, who was arrested June the 18th, has been released from the Etowah County Jail on 25-thousand dollars bond and more arrests in the case could be forthcoming.
The investigation began following a tip and officers posed as clients to infiltrate the operation.
The FBI assisted in the operation.
Authorities would not disclose the name of the website.
