Mrs Bertha Beatrice Gross

Mrs. Bertha Beatrice Gross, age 87 of Gadsden, passed away Saturday, June 29th at Gadsden Regional Medical Center.

Funeral services will be 11AM Monday, July 1st at Liberty United Methodist Church, with Rev. Roy Daughtery and Rev. Jay Daughtery officiating; burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 until 11AM Monday, at the church.

Pallbearers include Robert Gossett, Terry Lee, James Bobo, John Ed Godfrey, John Cashman, James Wise.

Survivors include son, Steve (Sharron) Gross of Hokes Bluff; daughter, Joan (James) Spellman of Rome, GA; grandchildren, Jimmy Spellman, Kasey Gross Browning; great grandchildren, Justin Smedley, Jamie Spellman; special friend, Brittany Watkins.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Gross and grandson, Lee Gross.

Mrs. Gross was a native of Cherokee County, the daughter of the late Robert and Georgia Duncan Bishop, was a seamstress at Sew Sew Styles in Centre and was a member of Liberty United Methodist Church, where she was a pianist for over 40 years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Liberty United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund.
