The Blood Assurance “Bloodmobile” was at Cherokee County Health and Rehab Friday.
Among those donating blood was Leigh Marlow (pictured below), who is a regular donor.
Marlow says her son was in an accident and needed blood.
Now, she gives blood to help others.
In addition to accidents and natural disasters, blood is needed for surgeries and one donation can be separated into red cells, platelets and plasma.
That means one donation can save up to three lives.
Each day, a minimum of 400 donations are needed in our area and Blood Assurance is the sole provider of blood to more than 50 hospitals and healthcare facilities.
