During a called meeting Wednesday, the Cedar Bluff Town Council voted to hire a new Town Clerk.
Chelsey Chandler is a recent graduate of Jacksonville State University and the daughter of Centre Mayor Tony Wilkie.
Her starting salary is 30-thousand dollars a year with 6-thousand of that coming from license fees.
It is mandatory to pay the clerk 10-dollars for every business license sold.
The vote to hire Chandler was taken after the council returned from a brief executive session.
Chandler replaces Misti Mobbs who is leaving after accepting another job offer.
